OPERATION NAVIGATOR > OBJECTIVES
- Establish planetside facilities for the exploitation of resources.
1a. Support repair efforts of the ship.
1b. Bring additional crew back online to support and expand functions.
- Assess the viability of the planet as a long-term economic outpost.
2a. Investigate Category 4 and lower lifeforms found on the planet.
2b. Assess if appropriate contact can be made, with intention of long-term relations being established.
- Conduct thorough analysis of planetary biodiversity, to assess the possibility of additional advancements.
3a. Continue stellar survey to determine approximate position relative to Known Space.
3b. If Known Space can be located, the most appropriate route to Known Space should be determined.
OPERATION NAVIGATOR > SYNOPSIS OF TRANSPIRED EVENTS
In accordance with AX-COM-IN executive edict 02-11-04-01-09 and within the parameters stated in the CGA’s codex on Unknown System Exploration, the ship Ma-Gik-Ar had been authorised to explore the C-01-07-12 System (to be named Gy-Oos-Do on exploration) on the edge of Known Space. Preparations had been completed on schedule and transit to the Xa-Nal-Go system to commence exploration.
An illegal drift discharge within the jump zone caused a re-direction from the intended ship destination in the Ka-Nos-Va System to an unsuitable entry point, causing a Bounce to occur. After an unknown number of attempts, we have emerged beyond Known Space, having sustained critical damage to the ship and casualties among the personnel.
OPERATION NAVIGATOR > CURRENT SITUATION
The ship has sustained critical damages to core components during the bounce; resulting in multiple fatalities and requiring the powering down of all but the most vital systems of the ship. A full assessment of ship repairs required can be found in SHIP REPAIR MANIFESTO.
Current injured crew complement has been placed into suspended animation until appropriate treatments can be provided for them. Those that are in good health have been brought online to assist with Operation Navigator. Funeral services will be held for lost crew at a later date.
We have achieved a stable position in the Lagrange 2 region of the nearby terrestrial planet and the local star, with intentions for longer term stay. Current limited power can sustain this position.
Planetside Operations are currently headed by Apex Hunter Ku-Hul-Ah and further operations are to be cleared with them before being carried out. A bulletin will be posted when clearance is confirmed.
Planetside facilities have been authorised by Command and construction is currently in progress to bring a fully functional facility online. Personnel must be cleared by their respective department before planetside operations can be attempted. Operations are to be organised by department heads for submission to Command for approval.
Requests for equipment are to be forwarded to your relevant department requisition officer. You will be informed of the equipment’s arrival and setup date. Due to the high volume of expected requests, delays may occur with processing. Please note that much of our equipment has been damaged during the Bounce, potentially rendering some requests unfillable at this time.
Category 4 species have been identified inhabiting landmasses during initial observations of the planet. Contact with these entities is to be avoided by all personnel until further information is gathered. Information gathered regarding the civilizations is to be recorded in files for submission to Command. Any unintended contact is to be immediately raised to Command under Priority 01 for immediate resolution. Further information on the known species will be provided when verified.
The initial scans of the terrestrial planet has revealed diverse and active lower categories as well. Current information suggests potential megafauna in some regions, though these appear to be somewhat limited in number and spread. Spread of other categories is over a much greater variety of climates and biomes, potentially across all systems. At this point, greater details are still being obtained and all information has been forwards to the representative research divisions for further study.
Protective gear is to be worn at all time when outside of facilities while the potential biological threat posed is assessed. All native organic substances are to be treated as lethal at this point in time. All contact with unprocessed materials should be immediately raised to Medical and the exposed individuals isolated immediately for removal.
